West Kelowna re-opens City Hall to the public in keeping with guidelines under BC’s Restart Plan

The City of West Kelowna is welcoming back customers to Municipal Hall, but continues to encourage people to conduct as much business as possible online.
To assist the public with COVID-19 protocols, including social distancing and gathering size limits, for the next several weeks, a Welcome Back Ambassador will greet customers in the City Hall courtyard during business hours between 8:30 a.

Mayor and Council return to City Hall for regular meetings
Mayor Gord Milsom and CAO Paul Gipps welcomed Council back to Chambers for the first time in two-and-a-half months. The City moved meetings to Westbank Lions Community Centre March 24 in response to COVID-19 and held subsequent meetings via video conferencing.

Boil Water Notice downgraded to Water Quality Advisory in Sunnyside/Pritchard System (1)FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The City of West Kelowna, in consultation with the Interior Health Authority, has downgraded the Boil Water Notice for the Sunnyside/Pritchard System to a Water Quality Advisory due to decreasing turbidity in Okanagan Lake.
Although turbidity is decreasing, it remains higher than normal due to spring freshet and related conditions in the lake.

Water Quality Advisory Elevated to Boil Water Notice in City of West Kelowna’s Sunnyside/Pritchard SystemFOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The City of West Kelowna, in consultation with the Interior Health Authority, is elevating the Water Quality Advisory in the Sunnyside/Pritchard System to a Boil Water Notice, effective immediately and until further notice, due to increased turbidity near the intake in Okanagan Lake. Turbidity affects the performance of the chlorine disinfection process enabling bacteria, viruses and microorganisms to attach themselves to the suspended particles in the turbid water.
