  • Council Moves Forward With Strategic Priorities

  • Water Quality Advisory Rescinded for Lakeview System (1)

    The City of West Kelowna, in cooperation with Interior Health, has rescinded the Water Quality Notice in the Lakeview System.

    The water quality advisory was required January 24 after several monitoring stations in the Lakeview Heights North area began recording high turbidity.

    Each year, Council engages you in the budget process and carefully considers your feedback in its deliberations before adopting the Financial Plan and Tax Rate Bylaws.

    The City of West Kelowna is issuing a Water Quality Advisory for the entire Lakeview System, effective immediately and until further notice, due to high turbidity registering at several monitoring locations in the Lakeview Heights area. Crews are working to determine the source of the high turbidity.

  • Motorists Please Plan Ahead for Gellatly Road Bridge Closure

    The City of West Kelowna anticipates closing Gellatly Road Bridge over Powers Creek for approximately three months beginning January 30 for an essential infrastructure project.

    The temporary closure will allow the city’s contractor to safely remove and replace the bridge, which has reached the end of its lifespan.

  • Boil Water Notice Rescinded for Lakeview System

    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

    The City of West Kelowna, in cooperation with Interior Health, has rescinded the Boil Water Notice in the Lakeview System, effective immediately.

    The Boil Water Notice was required December 17 after an accidental line break at a non-municipal construction site caused a chain reaction that ultimately caused damage to the chlorination system at Rose Valley Reservoir.

  • On Snow Days, Please Help Crews Clear the Way

    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
    December 19, 2019 

    Residents need to park off street over the next two to three days, please, to help road crews deal with the heavy snowfall expected over the pre-Christmas weekend. Environment Canada is forecasting snowfall of 10 centimeters in West Kelowna into Friday morning, December 20, followed by periods of rain or snow throughout the weekend, and plows may be unable to clear residential streets cluttered with cars.
