  • Water Quality Advisory Continues Lakeview System

    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
    October 07, 2019

    Working in conjunction with the Interior Health Authority, the City of West Kelowna has issued a Water Quality Advisory for the Lakeview Water System due to elevated turbidity in water drawn from the Rose Valley Reservoir.

    A Water Quality Advisory means children, the elderly, people with weakened immunity and anyone else seeking added protection should use boiled water, or an alternate, safe source, for drinking, brushing teeth, washing fruits and vegetables, preparing.

  • New Playgrounds Under Construction in West Kelowna

    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
    September 27, 2019

    As early as Monday, September 30, the City will begin installing two new playgrounds in West Kelowna.

    Shannon Woods Park in the Shannon Lake Neighbourhood and McIver Park in the Glen Eagles area of the Glenrosa Neighbourhood will soon have new playground equipment including swings, slides, monkey bars, climbing features and more!

    Work on both playgrounds is expected to be complete by mid-November.

Claire Trevena, Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure to discuss continued improvements along Highway 97, including at Boucherie Road and Westlake Road, and met with Ministry staff along with Peachland Mayor Cindy Fortin to discuss obtaining the necessarily right-of-way to connect Trail 2000 between Peachland.

  • Update! Gellatly Boat Launch Closed A Bit Longer for Gas Line Relocation

    The City of West Kelowna is extending the closure of the Gellatly Road Boat Launch from Tuesday, October 01 to Thursday, October 03 and reducing access to the facility to one lane on October 4.

    The closure is required to accommodate Fortis Gas line relocation.

    No remaining water quality advisories are in effect in the City of West Kelowna’s systems at this time.
