West Kelowna Council met Sept. 22 for a Regular Meeting. Highlights include an update on advocacy efforts at the Union of BC Municipalities (UBCM) conference, recognition of National Truth and Reconciliation Day and Police and Peace Officers’ National Memorial Day, and the presentation of a Public Works Week award to the City. Council also approved an updated traffic calming policy, awarded a contract for flood mitigation design, and approved zoning for a six-storey mixed-use development on Churchill Road. Council also advanced a zoning amendment for 2-1812 Byland Road, approved 2027 permissive tax exemptions and supported a regional emergency support services grant application.
