Temporary road closure of McDougall Road pedestrian route in Rose Valley on Monday

On Monday, Nov. 2, McDougall Road between Rosewood Drive and Rose Valley Reservoir Dam will be closed to hikers as the City of West Kelowna will be completing watermain repair work.

The popular pedestrian route will be temporarily closed from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. while crews complete the work. Flaggers will be stationed at both ends of the work area to help direct people and maintain safe access around the site.

For everyone’s safety, people are asked to avoid the area and not enter the active work zone while repairs are underway.

The work is expected to be completed within one day. Depending on what crews encounter during excavation, the closure may need to be extended into an additional day.

Two watermains supply the treatment plant from the Rose Valley Reservoir; therefore, residents should not experience any interruption to their water service during repairs.

The City will provide updates if the work takes longer than anticipated. To receive updates directly to your inbox, sign-up for news alerts here, or visit westkelownacity.ca/news.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation while this important repair work is completed.
