West Kelowna RCMP are committed to keeping the community safe, maintaining the peace, responding to emergencies, upholding Canadian law, resolving policing-related complaints and delivering service of the highest quality.
The City of West Kelowna's municipal police force consists of 40 officers, who are members of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. The majority of the officers are based at the West Kelowna RCMP Detachment at 2390 Dobbin Road. The officers are funded 90 per cent by the City of West Kelowna and 10 per cent by the federal government under a Municipal Policing Unit Agreement.
The City of West Kelowna also employs 14 civilian support staff to assist RCMP with duties including public inquiries, criminal record checks, fingerprinting and other administrative and support roles.
