New West Kelowna Council sworn in
The City held the Inaugural Ceremony to mark the beginning of the 2026-2030 Council term. We are grateful to our guests, representatives from West Kelowna RCMP and West Kelowna Fire Rescue, along with friends and families, for making this Inaugural Ceremony a special day.
The Oath of Office was administered to each member of West Kelowna Council, elected October 17, 2026. Oaths were taken by:
- Mayor Stephen Johnston
- Councillor Tom Groat
- Councillor Garrett Millsap
- Councillor Rick de Jong
- Councillor Tasha Da Silva
- Councillor Justin Chapman
- Councillor Chris Moyer
The oaths of office were followed by an inaugural address by Mayor Stephen Johnston.
Regional District Board appointments made
Council appointed Mayor Johnston and Councillor Groat as Municipal Directors to the Regional District of Central Okanagan Board for a four-year term. Mayor Johnston will hold four weighted votes and Councillor Groat will hold three. Councillor Millsap was appointed first alternate, with Councillor de Jong as second alternate.

Signing Authorities appointed
Council appointed the signing authorities for the City of West Kelowna. Members of Council as well as the Chief Administrative Officer, Chief Financial Officer, General Manager of Corporate Services, and the Director of Legislative and Legal Services are all appointed as authorized signing authorities.
