  • Council highlights - Aug. 25, 2026

    Council Highlights from the Aug. 25, 2026 meeting include updates on wildfire response, regional health-care priorities, affordable housing, major capital projects, childcare, pedestrian improvements and the Mount Boucherie Community Centre restoration. Council also adopted a new Noxious Weed Bylaw, approved updates to recreation fees and charges and considered proposed changes to Council remuneration.

  • Council Highlights - July 28, 2026

    At the July 28, 2026 Regular Council Meeting, Council shared condolences on the passing of former councillor David Knowles, received presentations from the BC Dragoons on the Canadian Armed Forces and the Climate Action Ripple Effect (CARE) program, and reviewed updates on Council’s Strategic Priorities and departmental services. Council approved recommendations related to Council remuneration, essential hardware upgrades, the Noxious Weed Control Bylaw, zoning amendments supporting infill housing and the Housing Accelerator Fund commitments, a Westbank Lions Community Hall roof replacement contract, an agreement with the local rowing club, and recreation fee adjustments. Council also confirmed the City’s official position on the West Kelowna Transmission Project, supporting underground infrastructure along Route Option 1 – Old Okanagan Highway and Highway 97.

  • Council highlights - July 14, 2026

    At its July 14 meeting, West Kelowna Council celebrated the Royal Canadian Legion's 100th anniversary, reminded prospective candidates that nomination packages for the 2026 local election are now available and encouraged residents to attend the return of Music in the Park. Council also directed public engagement on the draft Sanitary Sewer Master Plan, awarded the Elliott Road improvement contract, approved special events endorsements for Quails' Gate and Frind Estate wineries, adopted rezonings for Morningside Drive and Ross Road, advanced an organic waste pre-compost appliance program and renewed the licence of occupation for the Mar Fee off-leash dog park.

  • Council Highlights - July 7, 2026

    West Kelowna Council held a Special Council Meeting on July 7 to review several key strategic initiatives through workshop-style discussions. Council provided feedback on the draft Community Safety & Well-Being Plan, proposed updates to the Traffic Calming Policy, the vision for the Westbank Urban Centre Plan and draft concepts for the Memorial Park Plan. No final decisions were made, with each project continuing to the next stage of development and public engagement.

Council also considered zoning amendments, election-related bylaws, BC Hydro transmission improvements, road rehabilitation projects, and strategic plans that support growth, engagement and service delivery in West Kelowna.
