The City of West Kelowna is seeking residents interested in volunteering on the Advisory Planning Commission (APC). The APC advises Council on land use, community planning, proposed bylaws and certain permits. Successful applicants will serve for the remainder of the current term, ending Dec. 31, 2027. Applications are due Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2026, at 4 p.m.
People interested in being a candidate in the municipal election can pick up their nomination package at City Hall at 3731 Old Okanagan Hwy.
Effective at noon (Pacific time) on Monday, Aug. 10, 2026, the operation of any off-road vehicle for recreational purposes on Crown land is temporarily prohibited throughout Kamloops Fire Centre and Southeast Fire Centre, as well as parts of the Cariboo Fire Centre and Coastal Fire Centre.
A precautionary Water Quality Advisory has been issued for parts of the South Boucherie (see map) after an early morning motor vehicle incident caused a water main break, resulting in a significant loss of water pressure.
The City of West Kelowna has launched a confidential third-party Whistleblower Office to support ethical conduct, corporate integrity and safe reporting of suspected wrongdoing by staff, volunteers, contractors and consultants. The program follows Council’s approval of Confidential Reporting (Whistleblower) Policy No. 0014 and is administered by independent investigators from Southern Law LLP.
Please ensure property taxes are paid to the City of West Kelowna and that Home Owner Grants are claimed through the Province of B.C. before 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 2 to avoid irreversible late penalties.
Stage 2 outdoor watering regulations remain in effect in the City of West Kelowna due to a low snowpack, which has already melted off in most of our watershed, leaving some of West Kelowna’s reservoirs low.
