Advance and general voting options for the West Kelowna local municipal election

It’s easier than ever to vote during the local election in the City of West Kelowna. During advanced and general voting days, you will vote for six councillors and one school trustee.
The City of West Kelowna uses same-day voter registration. Voters do not need to register in advance to vote in the City of West Kelowna general local election. You must provide two pieces of identification, one with a signature, that confirms who you are and where you presently live.
You are eligible to vote if:
- You are a resident of the City of West Kelowna.
- You are 18 years of age or older on voting day, Oct. 17.
- You are a Canadian citizen.
- You are a resident living in British Columbia for at least six months before voting, since April 16, 2026.
- You are not disqualified from voting due to an election offence.
- You are not ineligible to vote for other offences.
Non-residents may vote if:
- You are 18 years of age or older on voting day, Oct. 17.
- You are a Canadian citizen.
- You are not a resident in the City of West Kelowna.
- You are not ineligible to vote for other reasons such as elections offences.
- You have lived in British Columbia for at least six months before voting, since April 16, 2026.
- You have owned property within the City of West Kelowna for at least 30 days before voting, since Sept. 16, 2026.
- You have written consent from the majority of the property's co-owners to vote as the non-resident elector.
Proof is required using the Non-resident Elector Consent Form. Bring the form to the polling station when voting; or obtain the form from the polling station and return to vote with the completed and signed document.
Advance voting opportunities and location
Advance voting for the 2026 general local election will take place at City Hall, 3731 Old Okanagan Highway, West Kelowna from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on:
- Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2026
- Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2026
- Thursday, Oct. 15, 2026
General voting day and locations
On Saturday, Oct. 17, four polling stations are open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the following locations:
- Glenrosa Elementary School, 3430 Webber Road
- City Hall, 3731 Old Okanagan Highway
- Constable Neil Bruce Middle School, 2010 Daimler Drive
- Hudson Road Elementary School, 1221 Hudson Road

Accessible voting options
The City of West Kelowna is committed to ensuring that all eligible voters have accessible and inclusive voting experience.
Curbside Voting
If you find that a polling station is difficult to access, curbside voting is available. Look for the designated curbside parking space at your voting location and call 778-797-2250 when you arrive. An election staff member will bring a ballot directly to your vehicle.
Translation services
If you require an interpreter, please bring one with you to the polling station.
Support while voting
If you are unable to mark your own ballot, you may ask a relative, friend or election staff to assist you.
Mail ballot packages
Anyone who is eligible to vote in West Kelowna may vote by mail ballot instead of at an in-person voting opportunity.
Key dates for mail ballot packages
Apply for a mail ballot. The mail ballot package must be received in the mail by Oct. 16 or hand delivered to City Hall by Oct. 17.
How to request a mail ballot package
Eligible voters in West Kelowna can request a mail ballot package by:
- Filling out the online application form or completing the application form in-person at City Hall, 3731 Old Okanagan Highway.

You can select one of the following options to receive your mail ballot package:
- Pick up your mail ballot package in person at City Hall, 3731 Old Okanagan Highway.
- Arrange for an authorized person to pick up the mail ballot package on your behalf from City Hall.
- Mail it to a residential address via regular Canada Post delivery.
- Arrange and pay for the package to be mailed via a courier service from City Hall.
Returning your mail ballot package
You are responsible for ensuring that the Chief Election Officer receives your completed mail ballot package no later than 8 p.m. on General Voting Day, Saturday, Oct. 17, 2026. You may drop off your mail ballot package yourself or have someone drop off your mail ballot package on your behalf, at West Kelowna City Hall during regular office hours up to Friday, Oct. 16, 2026. Offices are closed on Monday, Oct. 12 for Thanksgiving.
The Chief Election Officer will also accept mail ballots through the secure drop box outside of City Hall until 8 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 17, 2026. Look for the labelled drop box sign.
Please note: The deadline for receiving ballots via mail is Friday, Oct. 16, as mail is not delivered to City Hall on Saturdays.
