Road rehabilitation increases life of West Kelowna roadsFOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

This year, West Kelowna is investing $992,006 to improve approximately three kilometres of roads as part of its annual Road Rehabilitation Program. Construction began earlier this month and will continue through September 2021.

Conserve now – water reserves are limitedWest Kelowna’s reservoir levels continue to decline due to substantial irrigation use during the ongoing drought conditions and extreme heat; and the City reminds water customers that Stage 2 restrictions, allowing twice weekly watering, are now in effect.
“Daily use has declined slightly since Stage 2 restrictions began July 20, but consumption is still too high and we ask all customers – residential, commercial and agricultural – to reduce outdoor use, by 30 per cent,” said Allen Fillion,.

The Government of Canada and Province of British Columbia announced funding through the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program to support the construction of a continuous pathway as part of the Shannon Lake active transportation corridor in West Kelowna.
Through the new COVID-19 Resilience Infrastructure Stream, the City of West Kelowna received $973,150 for the Shannon Lake active transportation corridor.
