Spa proposal for Shannon Lake neighbourhood does not receive first reading
Council did not give first reading to amendments to Official Community Plan and Zoning Bylaws, for an unaddressed property on Shannon View Drive that, if approved, would have created a Comprehensive Development Zone to accommodate a proposed destination spa and hotel.
Council will consider adoption of subdivision proposal for Lakeview Heights neighbourhood
Council gave third reading to a Zoning Bylaw Amendment that, if adopted, will create a proposed 10-lot subdivision at 2377 Thacker Drive. Adoption will be subject to the developer providing contributions to the Bridgeview Road sewer lift station, and providing no-build covenants to accommodate storm water conveyance and off-site improvements including streetlights, a pedestrian crossing, an asphalt path, frontage on Thacker Drive, and off-site storm detention works to be cost-shared with the City.
Council permits Smith Creek Road extension to accommodate planned future development
Council authorized a development permit to allow developers to excavate, grade, and process and remove rock to facilitate future extension and realignment of Smith Creek Road, for long-term housing development. Staff will issue the permit once the developer provides securities for restoration works, installs a safety fence and updates an environmental assessment with landscape restoration, geotechnical and creek setback assurances.
Three Glenrosa properties added to Powers Creek Water Service Area
Council adopted three Local Area Service Bylaws, adding 3307, 3343 and 3349 Glenrosa Road to the Powers Creek Water System. The City negotiated the additions to acquire the land and working easements needed for the construction of a new water reservoir in Glenrosa.
