Council endorses Subject to Petition Against Initiative for Local Area Service and long-term borrowing for Rose Valley Water Treatment Plant
Council endorsed a process for the City to determine if there is sufficient petition against from Rose Valley Water Treatment Plant (RVWTP) property owners to use long-term borrowing of up to $23.5 million for the plant’s design, construction and financing.

Water Quality Advisory Issued for Lakeview/Rose Valley Water SystemThe City of West Kelowna, in consultation with Interior Health, is issuing a Water Quality Advisory for the Lakeview/Rose Valley System effective immediately and until further notice, due to high turbidity registering at the reservoir.
According to the City’s Reservoir Consultant, an algal bloom is causing the turbidity, which may affect the performance of the chlorine disinfection process.

Rose Valley Water Treatment Plant Report to Council moves forward to recommend establishing Local Area Service and long-term borrowingWest Kelowna Council will review a report that recommends establishing the Local Area Service (LAS) and Loan Authorization Bylaw at tomorrow’s regular Council meeting for the Rose Valley Water Treatment Plant (RVWTP).
Council will consider options for RVWTP LAS property owners about how they would pay for their water service.
