With the 2025 freshet underway, public works and emergency crews remain ready and responsive and remind residents and visitors to be cautious around creeks and waterways and property owners to be prepared.
West Kelowna Fire Rescue crews urge residents and visitors and their pets to keep clear of creeks and creek banks, this time of year, as waterways are moving quickly due to freshet, which is expected to continue for the next few weeks, until most upper.

With the return of consistently warmer overnight temperatures, crews can resume the City’s annual watermain flushing program. The program will procced in scheduled zones to remove accumulated sediment within the distribution system.

Water Quality Advisory and Boil Water Notice rescinded in GlenrosaDate of Issue: Thursday, March 27, 2025
The City of West Kelowna, in consultation with Interior Health, has rescinded the precautionary, isolated Water Quality Advisory for Glenrosa and the Boil Water Notice for Stonegate Court, Helen Gorman Elementary, and 3285, 3281, 3279 and 2373 Gates Road.
The Water Quality Advisory and Boil Water Notice were put in effect after an accidental water main break, which occurred on March 19 in the Salmon Road area.

Notice of private contractor completing active transportation upgrades on Anders RoadDate of Issue: Friday, March 21, 2025
Beginning Monday, March 24, Matcon Construction will begin work on Anders Road for active transportation improvements, requiring modified traffic patterns.
Matcon Construction is set to complete stormwater upgrades, install a bike lane and a sidewalk and add street lighting on Anders Road from the roundabout on Boucherie Road to just past Anders Park.
