Temporary removal of Water Quality Advisory for Lakeview-Rose Valley System
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
October 28, 2020
Recent testing confirms water quality has returned to normal to help provide a reprieve for Lakeview-Rose Valley System customers before the next milestone of the Rose Valley Water Treatment Plant construction in November. In the following weeks, another tie-in will be completed on a 750mm water main that will connect the Lakeview-Rose Valley System to the future plant.
This work will require a precautionary Boil Water Notice for up to one week as quality may be temporarily disturbed upon activating the new section of water main. During this time, and if weather conditions allow, watermain flushing may also occur in select areas of the Lakeview-Rose Valley system.
The City, in consultation with Interior Health, will release more information as the date for that work approaches. Quality is currently good in all City of West Kelowna water systems; and, while no Water Quality Advisories or Boil Water Notices are presently in effect, the free access to the bulk filling station at Shannon Lake and Asquith Roads will continue so that customers will have the ability to access the facility in advance in preparation of the Boil Water Notice in November.
To determine if you live in the Lakeview-Rose Valley System, please see our Water Quality Advisory Map at westkelownacity.ca/waterquality.
