Water Quality Advisory issued for Lakeview-Rose Valley Water System (1)

The City of West Kelowna, in consultation with Interior Health, is issuing a Water Quality Advisory for the Lakeview/Rose Valley System effective immediately and until further notice, due to increasing turbidity in the Rose Valley Reservoir.
Increased turbidity can allow bacteria, viruses and microorganisms to attach themselves to the suspended particles in the turbid water avoiding chlorine disinfection.

The City of West Kelowna will be able to replace its 21-year old ammonia chiller at Jim Lind Arena and Royal LePage Place, thanks to a $442,000 to a grant from the Province of BC.
“We are extremely grateful to the Province for supporting the City of West Kelowna’s application under the Community Economic Recovery Infrastructure Program (CERIP),” said Mayor Gord Milsom.

Current Public Health Orders restrict in-person attendance at the public hearing.

West Kelowna’s public works crews will set up eight self-serve sand and sandbag stations throughout the City by Friday, March 12 as a proactive measure for property owners who live in areas prone to past flooding events.
Stations will be located at:
- Gellatly Bay – Beechnut Park at George Court and Whitworth Road
- Hitchner/Jennens – Hitchner Park at Hitchner and Jennens Roads
- Glenrosa – Gates and Glenrosa Roads
- Shannon Lake – Kinsmen Park, 3170 Shannon.
