West Kelowna prepares to resume public hearings

The City of West Kelowna is preparing to resume public hearings for eligible applications. Hearings have been on hold at the City due to restrictions to public gatherings ordered by the provincial health authorities.

Detours around Glenrosa-McIver Intersection start May 14The first set of detours needed for the Glenrosa-McIver Road improvement project are set to start May 14.
Crews will close Glenrosa and McIver Roads for several months to allow for the planned realignment of the intersection.
Water Quality Advisory Issued for West Kelowna Estates SystemFOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
May 09, 2020The City of West Kelowna, in consultation with Interior Health Authority, is issuing a Water Quality Advisory for the West Kelowna Estates System, effective immediately and until further notice, due to high turbidity. The cause of the higher than normal turbidity is sediment from spring freshet that is flowing into Okanagan Lake from creeks upstream of the water system’s intake.
Glenrosa detour information to come next weekMay 8, 2020
Glenrosa Road near the McIver intersection will temporarily close starting May 14 to allow for planned road improvements.
Information about detours and impacts for transit, pedestrians, local traffic, emergency access and timing will be posted to the City’s website, sent to our subscribers and posted on social media channels early next week.

Construction to start on Glenrosa/McIver Road Improvement ProjectConstruction of one of West Kelowna’s largest road improvement projects is getting underway in early May. BC General Contracting has been awarded the contract and will be mobilizing to site in the second week of May.
