Water Quality Advisory Issued for West Kelowna Estates SystemFOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
May 09, 2020The City of West Kelowna, in consultation with Interior Health Authority, is issuing a Water Quality Advisory for the West Kelowna Estates System, effective immediately and until further notice, due to high turbidity. The cause of the higher than normal turbidity is sediment from spring freshet that is flowing into Okanagan Lake from creeks upstream of the water system’s intake.

The first cars crossed the new Gellatly Bridge over Powers Creek as the modernized infrastructure opened to the public on time and within budget.
Bridge replacement construction began in January, and despite minor service changes during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, the project finished on schedule and incurred no cost overruns.
