Voting Accessibility

The City of West Kelowna is committed to ensuring that all eligible voters have an accessible and inclusive voting experience.

Voting Place Accessibility

We will have wheelchair accessible entrances, accessible parking and accessible washrooms available at every voting location.

Assistance at the Voting Place

Voters may:

• Bring a person of their choice to assist them in voting (except a candidate or candidate representative).

• Request assistance from an Election Official.

• Receive assistance if they have difficulty reading or marking their ballot.

We will also have accessible voting equipment on site, including:

• 4x Magnifier with a light

• Signature guides

Curbside Voting

If you are unable to enter the voting place due to mobility limitations, election officials can assist you with curbside voting. Please notify an election official upon arrival or call the voting place using the posted phone number (250) 797-2250.

Service Animals

Service animals are welcome at all voting locations.

Language Assistance

Interpreters are permitted to assist (required to sign a declaration).

Accessible Route from Public Transit

Voters arriving by public transit can follow accessible wayfinding signs from the nearest bus stop to the accessible entrance of the voting place.

Mail Ballot Voting

If you are unable to pick up or return your mail ballot package yourself, you may authorize another person to do so on your behalf, in accordance with the City's mail ballot procedures.

1. The person must complete authorization forms before picking up or returning a mail ballot package on behalf of a voter.
