    Mayor Gord Milsom praised the efforts of the City’s 2018 Snow Stars, two of which were in attendance at the meeting to receive their award. The City’s Snow Star Program recognizes residents who assist others in the community without being asked or expecting thanks.

    BC Hydro on Power Security
    Council was provided information by BC Hydro about a planned upgrade to the Westbank Substation which BC Hydro says serves 22,000 customers in West Kelowna and Peachland.  The upgrade is intended to increase capacity of the substation, served by a single transmission line running from the Nicola Substation to Westbank, and to replace old equipment and accommodate a connection for a new transmission line.

    The City of West Kelowna has issued a blasting permit to T & A Rock Works to allow the continuation of works by Ryser Developments on the Tallus Ridge project in West Kelowna.   Blasting is expected to begin today, April 15, 2019, and continue for approximately three weeks.

  • Site Secured for Rose Valley Water Treatment Plant

    The City of West Kelowna has purchased a 24-acre portion of 2010 Bartley Road, at a cost of $915,000, which will be the site of the greatly-anticipated Rose Valley Water Treatment Plant.

    The City made the purchase to secure land to begin building the new plant, which will serve 12,000 people living within the Lakeview Water System, and a further 6,000 people in the West Kelowna, Pritchard and Sunnyside Water Systems once interconnections to the new plant are.

    Lakeview Water Quality Advisory Lifted

    West Kelowna Estates Remains on Advisory for Repairs

    In consultation with the Interior Health Authority, the Water Quality Advisory for the Lakeview Water System has been rescinded due to turbidity returning to acceptable levels combined with the completion of the water main flushing and reservoir cleaning program.

    The Water Quality Advisory will remain in place for the West Kelowna Estates Water Service Area until necessary repairs and maintenance.
