  • Water Quality Advisory Issued for the Pritchard-Sunnyside System

    The City of West Kelowna, in consultation with Interior Health, has issued a Water Quality Advisory for the Pritchard-Sunnyside System due to turbidity issues in Okanagan Lake in the vicinity of the intake related to an overnight windstorm.

    Recent testing confirms water quality has returned to normal to help provide a reprieve for Lakeview-Rose Valley System customers before the next milestone of the Rose Valley Water Treatment Plant construction in November. In the following weeks, another tie-in will be completed on a 750mm water main that will connect the Lakeview-Rose Valley System to the future plant.

    The City of West Kelowna, in consultation with Interior Health, has rescinded the Water Quality Advisory for the Pritchard-Sunnyside Water System. The City issued the advisory May 15, 2020 due to high turbidity in Okanagan Lake.

  • Watermain Flushing in Lakeview-Rose Valley Water System

    City of West Kelowna crews will be performing watermain flushing in the Lakeview-Rose Valley Water System over the coming weeks as part of the annual flushing program.

    Flushing in the system will be begin today in the Stevens Road and West Kelowna Business Park area and continue moving through different areas of the system until winter freeze up.

  • Boil Water Notice downgraded to Water Quality Advisory in the Lakeview System

    The City of West Kelowna, in consultation with Interior Health, is downgrading the Boil Water Notice for the Lakeview-Rose Valley System to a Water Quality Advisory, effective immediately.

    The Boil Water Notice was required to complete an important construction milestone to tie in a 600mm main that will eventually connect the Lakeview-Rose Valley System to the future water treatment plant.

  • Outdoor water use permitted, Boil Water Notice continues in Lakeview-Rose Valley System

    With work on the first water main tie-in for Rose Valley Water Treatment Plant now completed, automated outdoor domestic and agricultural water use will be permitted in the Lakeview-Rose Valley Water System starting at midnight tonight. The Boil Water Notice in the system continues until early next week as anticipated, while final tests are conducted and results are confirmed.
