The first cars crossed the new Gellatly Bridge over Powers Creek as the modernized infrastructure opened to the public on time and within budget.
Bridge replacement construction began in January, and despite minor service changes during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, the project finished on schedule and incurred no cost overruns.

West Kelowna City Council has unanimously approved extending the 2020 property tax penalty effective date from July 3 to October 1 for residents and businesses as an additional measure to help during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The property tax due date for both residents and businesses remains July 2, 2020.

In keeping with COVID-19 regulations, the City of West Kelowna conducted the Regular Council Meeting of April 21 via video conferencing, ensuring safe distancing of Council and staff. Public access was also restricted; and therefore, staff scheduled no matters requiring immediate public input.

The City of West Kelowna advises that it has issued a blasting permit to T&A Rock Works for lot grading in the vicinity of a former cell phone tower site on the south slopes of Mount Boucherie. The City anticipates that blasting work will take approximately one month.
