Transmission Mains construction starts next week in Sunnyside

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Thursday, Oct. 13, 2022

Beginning next week, crews will start construction work to install water Transmission Mains on Menu Road to connect to the Rose Valley Water Treatment Plant (RVWTP). This is the final stage of construction required prior to connecting residents to the new water system.

Starting Monday, Oct. 17, a single-lane alternating traffic pattern will be in effect from 1247 Menu Road to Ourtoland Road weekdays from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Pedestrian access will be maintained throughout construction and cyclists are encouraged to dismount through the construction zone. Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.

Traffic pattern changes are necessary to allow crews to work as quickly as possible while ensuring public safety.

Phase 1 construction: Menu Road – October 17 for approximately six weeks

Phase 2 of construction on Ourtoland and Ogden Roads is anticipated to begin in early spring of 2023. Advanced notice will be provided to residents living within the work area and the public prior to construction.
The City of West Kelowna thanks residents for their patience while construction is underway.
