Temporary traffic pattern changes on Anders Road begin this week

Starting Thursday, Sept. 4, 2025, Matcon Construction is scheduled to begin work on the final section of active transportation improvements on Anders Road. This work will require temporary traffic pattern changes.

The project scope includes stormwater upgrades, installation of a bike lane and sidewalk, and road paving.

Crews are scheduled to work on weekdays from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Traffic pattern schedule

The following traffic pattern schedule will be in effect:

• Full road closure at the Olalla Road and Anders Road intersection
  • Thursday, Sept. 4
  • Motorists will be required to use Boucherie Road via Stuart Road or Douglas Road to access Lakeview Village.
• Single-lane alternating on Anders Road between Olalla Road and Wellington Road
  • Friday, Sept. 5
  • Monday, Sept. 8
  • Tuesday, Sept. 9
  • Wednesday, Sept. 10
  • Thursday, Sept. 11
  • Friday, Sept. 12
  • Monday, Sept. 15
• Paving work is anticipated to occur during the week of Sept. 15 and will also include a single-lane alternating traffic pattern.

Access during construction

• Boucherie Road will remain open to through traffic.
• Access to Lakeview Village businesses and residences will be maintained.
• Emergency services, pedestrians and cyclists continue to have access at all times.

Please note that the construction schedule is subject to weather conditions, contractor schedule changes and other factors.

We advise motorists to plan ahead, allow for extra travel time, and use caution in construction and detour zones. For everyone’s safety, please give crews extra space and follow the directions of traffic control personnel.

Although this work is being carried out by a private contractor, it affects municipal roadways. The City of West Kelowna thanks motorists and residents for their patience and understanding while the work is completed safely and as quickly as possible.
