Share your feedback on community safety and well-being in West Kelowna
Date of Issue: Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2026
The City of West Kelowna is developing its first-ever Community Safety and Well-Being Plan and we want to hear from you.
The first round of engagement completed in fall 2025 gained a better understanding of community experiences, concerns, and aspirations related to safety and well-being in West Kelowna. Six interconnected themes have been identified, which together, describe the key drivers of community safety and well-being needs.
The six identified themes are:
- Housing, Homelessness, and Basic Needs
- Mental Health, Substance Use, and Health Services
- Community Safety in Public Spaces and Neighbourhoods
- Children, Youth, Families, and Seniors
- Equity, Reconciliation, and Belonging
- Systems Coordination, Navigation, and Prevention
In this next phase of engagement, we’re inviting residents, community organizations and businesses to review our initial findings are share their thoughts and ideas to help develop strategies to inform the Community and Safety Well-being Plan.
Public engagement is open until Friday, Feb. 6, 2026.
This important initiative will help shape a safer, more inclusive, and connected community for everyone who lives, works, and plays in West Kelowna. The Community Safety and Well-Being Plan will guide how the City and its partners address key social issues, strengthen local supports, and enhance community well-being over the long term.
