Section of Anders Road closed for final paving work

Starting Friday, July 11, 2025, Matcon Construction is scheduled to begin the final phase of work on Anders Road as part of the active transportation improvement project. This work will require additional adjusted traffic patterns.

To date, Matcon Construction has completed stormwater upgrades, installed a bike lane and sidewalk, and added street lighting along Anders Road from the Boucherie Road roundabout to just past Anders Park.

Crews are scheduled to work from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on the following days:

• Friday, July 11
• Saturday, July 12
• Monday, July 14

During this final paving phase, the current detour will be adjusted. Motorists will be required to use Thacker Drive via Stuart Road or Douglas Road to access Lakeview Village. Residents living along Skyline, Stevenson and Teal Roads will not have direct access to Anders Road for the duration of the paving work and will also need to use the detours.

Boucherie Road will remain open to through traffic, and access to Lakeview Village businesses and residences will be maintained throughout construction.

The construction schedule is subject to weather conditions, contractor schedule changes and other factors.

Once this paving is complete, active transportation improvements along Anders Road will be finished.

Motorists are advised to allow for extra travel time when driving through the detours. For the safety of crews and residents in the area, please drive with caution through construction and detour zones, give extra space for roadside workers, and follow directions of traffic-control personnel.

Although this work is being carried out by a private contractor, it affects municipal roadways. The City of West Kelowna thanks motorists and area residents for their patience and understanding while the work is completed safely and as quickly as possible.
