Join us for a magical holiday season in West Kelowna! There’s something for everyone with festive favourites like Light Up and Twinkle Tour and new this year, Family Flicks.

Light Up on Brown Road

Light Up, the brightest City event of the year, returns to Westbank Centre on Friday, Dec. 5, starting at 5 p.m.! Glow with the flow of holiday fun at our annual Light Up celebration, a free, family-friendly evening filled with festive activities, live music, food trucks and plenty of holiday magic along Brown Road. The Market at Light Up will take place throughout the evening at Westbank Lions Community Centre.

Children will be delighted to see Santa, who will join the Mayor for the traditional tree-lighting ceremony at 5:30 p.m. (new time this year!). Cap off the celebration with a high-altitude fireworks show at 7:45 p.m. (weather permitting).

Twinkle Tour

The Twinkle Tour is a community initiative that celebrates festive light displays throughout West Kelowna. Snap a photo of a holiday light display and register yourself or another community member by filling out the online nomination form. Entries will appear on the self-guided Twinkle Tour map and will also be entered into the Twinkle Tour contest. Contest categories include most festive residence, business, street/cul-de-sac and other.

Starting Nov. 21, residents can view the self-guided Twinkle Tour map and explore West Kelowna to enjoy all the dazzling displays that light up our community.

Family Flicks

Family Flicks is a new, family-friendly movie event featuring popular films throughout the year. The first screening will feature Elf on Sunday, Dec. 7 from 2 - 4:30 p.m at the Westbank Lions Community Centre (2466 Main Street, West Kelowna, BC). Admission is $5 per person, which includes popcorn, candy and a drink.

Please note: children must be accompanied by an adult; this is not a drop-in program. Pre-registration is required. Call 778-797-8800 to purchase tickets.

West Kelowna Fire Rescue annual Holiday Food Drive

West Kelowna Fire Rescue is proud to once again lead its annual holiday food drive, bringing the community together to support families in need in partnership with the Central Okanagan Food Bank. This year, firefighters will visit local neighbourhoods on Tuesday, Dec. 2 and Wednesday, Dec. 3 from 5 – 8 p.m., collecting non-perishable food items and cash donations. Residents can also drop off donations at any of West Kelowna’s four fire stations until Jan. 4, 2026.

• Friday, Nov. 21 – 2025 Winter Recreation Guide release
• Tuesday, Dec. 2 and Wednesday, Dec. 3 from 5 - 8 p.m. – West Kelowna Fire Rescue annual Holiday Food Drive
• Friday, Dec. 5 from 5 - 8 p.m. – Light Up and Market
• Sunday, Dec. 7 from 2 - 4:30 p.m. – Family Flicks
• Thursday, Dec. 18 – Twinkle Tour judging takes place
• Friday, Dec. 19 – Twinkle Tour winners are announced
