Public Access Restricted at City Facilities

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

March 18, 2020

Further to the news release yesterday confirming that city recreational facilities are closed, public access to City Hall is now restricted until further notice to prevent the spread of the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19).

City Hall continues to remain operational and staff are fully committed to serve our community with the best service levels possible. This means city staff are adjusting its service delivery model, such as increased use of phone, email and digital interactions, documents transmitted through mail, courier or email and centralizing public inquiries through the main public information entry points:

City Hall Main Telephone Line: 778.797.1000

City Email Address: info@westkelownacity.ca

City Website: www.westkelownacity.ca

City Facebook: @cityofwestkelowna

City Twitter: @westkelownacity

“Keeping our community and our staff safe remains our top priority and, as much as we always want to welcome the public into city facilities, we must all work together to prevent the spread of COVID-19,” says Mayor Gord Milsom. “We’re still working hard to serve the public even though we are temporarily restricting public access into our buildings. From West Kelowna Council and our staff, thank you for working in collaboration with us as things change from day-to-day. Our business is still very much open and we’re keeping our operations moving forward as much as possible as we reduce exposure of COVID-19 to our community and us.”

As all cities develop new ways of doing business and keeping our communities informed and engaged during this unprecedented time, all inquiries about City of West Kelowna business can be directed through the main points of entry and staff will get the public to the right place.
