Property Tax Deadline is July 2
The City of West Kelowna is reminding all property owners to pay their 2025 property taxes to the municipality and claim their Home Owner Grant through the Province of B.C., if eligible, by 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 2, 2025.
Any unpaid taxes, outstanding balances, or unclaimed Home Owner Grants as of July 2 must will automatically be charged a 10 per cent late penalty on July 3.
Please note that City staff cannot reverse this statutory penalty.
How to claim your Home Owner Grant
All grants must be claimed directly through the Province of B.C.
- Visit gov.bc.ca/homeownergrant.
- Or call 1-888-355-2700.
- Be sure to record your confirmation number after applying. The Province will send this to us, so no further action with City staff is required.
How to pay your property taxes
We strongly recommend paying online through your financial institution:
- Select WEST KELOWNA – TAXES as the payee.
- Use your roll number starting with 364 as the account number, with no dashes, spaces, or periods.
- Ensure the payment date is July 2, 2025 or earlier.
- Keep your transaction confirmation for your records.
Reminder: Tuesday, July 1 is Canada Day, a statutory holiday. Your bank’s processing time may delay payments including daily transaction cut-off times, so please do not leave it to the last minute.
Pay using the after-hours drop box
You can pay by cheque using our secure after-hours drop box:
- Located along the side of City Hall (see map).
- Make cheque payable to City of West Kelowna.
- Include your roll number in the memo line.
- Attach the remittance stub.
- Place all items in an envelope before depositing in the drop box.
Please note: Drop box payments must be deposited before the deadline to avoid the late penalty.

Paying in-person
Visit City Hall at 3731 Old Okanagan Highway, by Wednesday, July 2. You may pay by:
- Cheque – Payable to “City of West Kelowna”, include your roll number in the memo line and attach the remittance stub.
- Debit or cash – Make sure your debit limit covers the amount due.
We do not accept credit cards, but you can use services like Plastiq or PaySimply to pay by credit card (fees apply).
If you are planning to visit us in person, please expect wait times, dress for the weather and remember that City Hall is closed on Tuesday, July 1 for Canada Day.
Pre-authorized payments
If you are enrolled in our Pre-Authorized Payment Plan, log in at online.westkelownacity.ca to confirm your balance and ensure no outstanding amounts for 2025 taxes.
