Preliminary Design Consultation Program for City Hall/Library Building in West Kelowna coming soon

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Friday, June 4, 2021

West Kelowna Council has received a report for the June 8 Regular Council Meeting that provides a look-ahead of the communication and engagement program to be launched June 14 for the City Hall/Library Building.

Since the onset of COVID-19 in March 2020, staff has focused on ensuring that construction for the Rose Valley Water Treatment Plant was well underway as Council’s top priority project. Further, an expanded roads and sidewalk program also took precedence to ensure infrastructure investments remained strong in West Kelowna. With these projects well underway, City staff, together with the Okanagan Regional Library (ORL), are now preparing to launch the first of two rounds of public engagement for the new City Hall/Library Building.

At the June 8 Regular Council Meeting, an early look at the program and materials, including a brief demonstration of our online engagement platform, will be provided prior to finalizing the materials for the public launch on June 14. Further, a consultation summary report for the new skatepark design is included, along with the Agricultural Land Commission’s approval for the City’s non-farm use application for the portion of land where the new skatepark will be relocated.
