#OURWK Phase 1 engagement closes soon!
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
September 10, 2020
Summer is coming to a close and so is the opportunity for citizens to share their ideas for the future of West Kelowna. The first phase of engagement for the #OURWK Community Visioning process will close Mon., Sep. 21.
“Input shared by community members of all ages during this phase of engagement is an essential part of building a Draft Community Vision,” said Mayor Gord Milsom. “This vision will be the foundation for updating our Official Community Plan which will guide growth, change, and investment in West Kelowna over the next 20 years and beyond and I encourage those whom have not shared their ideas yet to do so before the official close.”
Phase 1 questionnaires are accessible online and paper copies are available by emailing ourwk@westkelownacity.ca or calling 778-797-8833.
- Ideas Questionnaire: This main questionnaire asks for overall input on West Kelowna today – what’s great, what needs improvement and ideas for the future. People who complete this questionnaire are eligible for the Phase 1 Engagement iPad prize draw!
- Topic Questionnaires: This series, of eight, 5-minute questionnaires, asks for specifics on different topics that will be important to the Community Vision: Environment; Parks, Rec & Culture; Transportation; Operations; Economy; Health & Learning; Growth; and Housing. Participants can share deeper input on the topics they care most about by completing any or all of the topic questionnaires.
“We know there are more great ideas out there and we would like to hear them. This is our community and our future. Let’s make it an amazing one,” said Milsom.
Later this fall, #OURWK will return for a second and final phase of engagement seeking review and feedback on a Draft Community Vision. For more information about #OURWK, visit ourwk.ca.
