May 28 Council Meeting to be held in new City Hall Council Chambers
Friday, May 24, 2024
City of West Kelowna Mayor and Council will welcome the public to the new Council Chambers, inside the newly occupied City Hall Building at 3731 Old Okanagan Highway, for the 6 p.m. May 28 Regular Council Meeting.
“Council is very pleased to provide this new City Hall as a place of governance and administration for our community,” said Mayor Gord Milsom. “It’s been 17 years since we’ve been in temporary facilities, and it feels great to be in our first purpose-built City Hall and host an inaugural Council Meeting in proper Council Chambers. We’re certainly proud of the new building and I know our residents will also be proud of their new City Hall.”
The audio-video (AV) from the former Council Chambers, in the temporary Britco trailers at the Mount Boucherie Community Centre, were transitioned to the new Council Chambers in West Kelowna’s first, purpose-built City Hall/Library Building and the full transitioning and testing are now completed.
“We wanted to ensure that everything was working smoothly before we moved forward with in-person Council meetings,” said Milsom. “With all the technology ready, Council is pleased to invite the public here to the new City Hall Council Chambers for the May 28 meeting!”
