Mail-in ballot applications available for the general local election

West Kelowna voters can now apply to vote by mail and skip the election lines in the 2026 General Local Election.

How to request a mail-in ballot package

Eligible voters in West Kelowna can request a mail ballot package and vote in advance by filling out the online application form or completing the application form in-person at City Hall, 3731 Old Okanagan Highway.

Mail-in ballot packages will be provided as soon as possible after the ballots are printed. Voters can choose to:

• Pick up their package at City Hall.
• Authorize someone to pick it up on their behalf.
• Have it mailed to a residential address by regular Canada Post delivery.
• Arrange and pay for courier delivery from City Hall.

Returning your completed mail ballot package

Completed ballot package must be sent back in the mail to City Hall by Oct. 16 or hand delivered to City Hall by 8 p.m. Oct. 17.

Voters may drop off the completed mail ballot package or have someone drop off the completed mail ballot package on their behalf, at City Hall, during regular office hours, Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., excluding holidays, up to Friday, Oct. 16. Offices are closed Sept. 30 for National Day of Truth and Reconciliation and Oct. 12 for Thanksgiving.

The Chief Election Officer will also accept mail ballots through the secure drop box outside of City Hall anytime, until 8 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 17. Look for the labelled drop box sign.

Reminder to candidates

Nomination packages are available for pick up at City Hall or online at at westkelownacity.ca/election and must be submitted by 4 p.m. on Sept. 11 to be officially declared to run as a candidate for City Council or School District No. 23 Board of Education Trustee.

Voting days

West Kelowna’s general voting will take place on Saturday, Oct. 17, with advance voting days on Oct. 7, 13 and 15.
