Learn and play at FireSmart Family Day!

Join us for fun, food, live demos, and more at our annual FireSmart Family Day on Saturday, May 24, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Fire Hall #31 located at 3651 Old Okanagan Highway.

This free event is open to everyone! Come meet West Kelowna Fire Rescue firefighters, staff, and special guests as we work together to build a more FireSmart community.

Event highlights include:

• Fun in the kids' activity zone
• Meet-and-greets with Ember the Fire Fox and Sparky the Fire Dog
• Free food and refreshments
• Live FireSmart demonstrations with our firefighters
• Try spraying a real fire hose
• Learn about our grant program
• Discover how to make your home FireSmart
• Get ready for wildfire season

Support our local Food Bank

Help fill the shelves for summer by bringing a non-perishable food donation to drop off at our on-site collection bin.

Traffic Advisory

To accommodate this popular event, Old Okanagan Highway will be closed between Drought and Apollo Roads, and Apollo Road will be closed at Old Okanagan Highway, on May 24 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Access to all area businesses and residences will be maintained. Please respect traffic crews, slow down in cone zones, and follow posted speed limits along detour routes, which include Brown, Drought, and Gossett Roads.
