How to keep connected with West Kelowna in event of postal strike

Date of Issue: Wednesday, May 21, 2025

Thousands of people connect digitally with the City of West Kelowna each day and, in the event of a postal strike, online and in-person services remain great options for our customers.

Whether it’s exploring or signing up for a recreation program, checking your utility bill or property tax account balance, making a payment, or submitting a service request, online options are available. You can also receive news and alerts online, check out capital projects and engagement opportunities or reach out via email or phone with your inquiries or service requests. We are also available via Facebook, Instagram and X.

Recreation programs

To find a favourite recreation program and register, please go to westkelownacity.ca/recguide. The summer guide is scheduled to be released on May 23. Stay tuned.

Utility bills

To view your quarterly utility bill online and sign up for it to be delivered to your email inbox, visit https://online.westkelownacity.ca. Online payments can then be made through your financial institution:

  1. Select West Kelowna – Utilities as the payee.
  2. Pay the amount indicated on your bill.
  3. Retain payment confirmation.
  4. Please allow a few business days for the bank’s payment to reach us on time; once it does, your account will be updated to reflect that we’ve received your payment.

Property taxes

You can also visit https://online.westkelownacity.ca to view your 2025 property tax notice and then pay online through your financial institution:

  1. Select WEST KELOWNA – TAXES as the payee.
  2. Use your roll number starting with 364 as the account number, with no dashes, spaces, or periods.
  3. Record your transaction confirmation, which must have a date of July 2, 2025 or earlier.
  4. Please allow a few business days for the bank’s payment to reach us on time; once it does, your account will be updated to reflect that we’ve received your payment.
  5. Please also remember to apply for your home owner grant, if eligible, separately through the Province of B.C. before the July 2 property tax deadline.

Other property tax options

Or you can pay property taxes:

  1. In person, by cash, cheque or debit, at City Hall at 3731 Old Okanagan Highway during business hours, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday; please note, offices are closed Canada Day, July 1.
  2. Afterhours, by cheque, using our 24/7 drop box at City Hall, at 3731 Old Okanagan Highway; the clearly marked drop box is on the south side of City Hall, facing towards the aquatic centre, across from the EV charging stations.
  3. Make payable to City of West Kelowna; we recommend including the stub from your property tax notice and putting your folio number in the memo line and depositing in an envelope in the drop box.
  4. Please do not mail your 2025 property tax payment, as we must receive it before the July 2 deadline and postmarks do not qualify as proof of on time payment. Please pay online through your financial institution, leave a payment in the drop box, send via courier, or pay in person. If none of these options work, please call Property Tax staff at 778-797-8860 for assistance.

The City does not accept credit cards; however, customers can arrange to pay by credit card, through a third-party provider such as Plastiq and PaySimply.
