Have your say on the 2023 Budget and Five-Year Financial Plan

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2023

Starting today, the West Kelowna community will have an opportunity to shape the City of West Kelowna’s Draft 2023 Budget and Five-Year Financial Plan.

This year's budget proposes a 5.0 per cent tax increase, which includes 1.7 per cent to cover police services cost increases and 1.0 per cent allocated to critical infrastructure. The draft budget presented on Jan. 30 and 31, 2023, is shaped throughout the year based on what matters most to the community. This year’s budget will strengthen public safety, infrastructure investments and water upgrades, while maintaining efficient operations.

The community has an opportunity to review the Five-Year Financial Plan, which remains open until Thursday, Feb. 16.

Residents are invited to drop by one of the two scheduled open houses to provide feedback directly to staff:

Open House #1

  • Wednesday, Feb. 8, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

  • Lakeview Heights Community Centre - 860 Anders Road

Open House #2

  • Wednesday, Feb. 15, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
