Feedback closes for City Hall/Library Building on July 4

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Tuesday, June 29, 2021
Input from the community will remain open through to Sunday, July 4 on the Preliminary Design of the City Hall/Library Building and we want to hear from you.
Let’s make history together! Share your thoughts on the Preliminary Design by taking a walk-through of the display boards and completing the questionnaire to help shape the design.
Tell us about:
  • Customer experiences when visiting City Hall/Library Building
  • Characteristics of great outdoor spaces for the community to gather
  • Preferences for landscaping and lighting elements around the building
  • Connectivity and accessibility throughout the site and area
  • Opportunities to celebrate public and Indigenous art and culture
Ways to get involved:
Online: Visit us online at ourwk.ca/cityhallproject to take a virtual tour of the open house boards, watch the video animations, complete the questionnaire or add comments to the ideas portal.
In-person:
  • View the display boards at Johnson Bentley Memorial Aquatic Centre or the Westbank Library.
  • Stop by our pop-up engagement session at the Westbank Library on Friday, July 2 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to learn more about the project, ask questions and provide your feedback.
By mail: Contact us and we’ll arrange for a package of materials to be mailed to you, including a paper copy of the questionnaire.
The City-owned site located at 3731 Old Okanagan Highway is soon to be a vibrant area that provides greater civic services to the area with the centralization of the City’s administration, provides a permanent home for the West Kelowna Library, and includes constituency offices of the Member of Parliament and Member of the Legislative Assembly.
With its proximity to Westbank Centre, Memorial Park, Johnson Bentley Memorial Aquatic Centre and the Annette Beaudreau Memorial Amphitheatre, the area will be a welcoming place to gather and a catalyst to revitalization.
The second round of consultation for the Detailed Design is planned for early fall. To stay up to date on current engagement opportunities, sign up atwestkelownacity.ca/subscribe.
