Applications closing soon: volunteer to help with accessibility audits in Westbank Centre
Date of Issue: Thursday, Nov. 6, 2025
The City of West Kelowna is making its final call for volunteers to join our Accessibility Audit Team in Westbank Centre. We’re seeking up to 10 community members to help review sidewalks, bus stops, bike lanes, and intersections ensuring everyone in our community can move safely and comfortably.
This pilot project, funded by Age-friendly BC, supports Goal Three of the City’s Accessibility Plan: identifying barriers to mobility and developing action plans for improvement.
About the project
Volunteers will receive training, complete audits between November 2025 and February 2026, and share feedback to help guide West Kelowna’s accessibility improvements.
We welcome applications from all residents, especially those with lived or living experience of disability or who face mobility or transportation challenges.
Why get involved
This is your opportunity to make a real impact on accessibility in your community:
- Help identify barriers affecting older adults and people with disabilities.
- Share your lived experience to improve future infrastructure projects.
- Earn a $25/hour honorarium for approximately 10 hours of participation.
