    The Regional District of Central Okanagan (RDCO), in partnership with the Emergency Operations Centre (EOC), is hosting daily media conferences from August 21 – 25, 2023 to keep the public and media informed about the wildfires in the region.

    Following the daily news conferences, the City of West Kelowna will be issuing highlights about the impacts to City of West Kelowna services from the McDougall Creek Wildfire.

  • Campfire ban ends in Central Okanagan fire areas

    Effective immediately, the ban on campfires has been lifted in most Central Okanagan areas.

  • Effective July 29 - Campfire ban across the Central Okanagan

    Effective immediately, all campfires are prohibited throughout all Central Okanagan municipalities and electoral area Fire Service Areas.  

    Due to extreme temperatures, dry conditions and the high-extreme fire danger rating, the campfire ban will remain in effect until further notice.
