Effective September 8, 2022, all Westbank Cemetery sales and client services will be handled at the new office location at the Mount Boucherie Recreation Complex at 2760 Cameron Rd.

About the Cemetery

With beautiful lake and mountain views, grassy meadows, pine groves and meandering pathways, the Westbank Cemetery provides a place of perfect tranquility with a variety of arrangement options. The 8.2-acre cemetery is located at 3200 Elliott Road and is the traditional resting place for community families and pioneers since 1925.

The Westbank Cemetery provides:

Hours

The cemetery gates (pedestrian only) are open every day, from dawn to dusk.

The cemetery office is located at 2760 Cameron Rd., West Kelowna.

Office hours are by appointment only, Tuesday and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Please note, additional service charges apply to the below noted fees. Non-residents pay an additional 18% on all products and services.

Cremation, In-Ground Plots

Plot fee: $721

Cremation, In-Ground Ossuary and Memorial Wall

Ossuary Plot Fee: $269
Ossuary Placement: $101

Our Ossuary provides the option to place cremated remains in a co-mingled container that has been placed deep within the ground. Names of those interred in the Ossuary can be placed on the Memorial Wall.

Cremation, Above-Ground Plots

Columbaria & Family Estates: The City has two columbaria buildings and two family estates for the inurnment of cremated remains. Each columbaria niche can accommodate two urns and the family estates can accommodate six urns.

Traditional Burial Plots, In-Ground

Traditional burial plots can accommodate up to four interments, with a maximum of two caskets.

Phased Improvements

Since 2013, the City of West Kelowna has invested approximately $1.3 million to expand and transform the Westbank Cemetery into a memorial garden, capture the surrounding natural beauty and create a place of serenity that honors the memory of loved ones.

The cemetery has been expanded along the eastern slope to include:

A memorial path with cremation plots
A memorial wall;
An interment meadow
An ossuary
Pathways and staircases

The eastern viewpoint has been enhanced to include:

Benches
Columbaria and mausoleums
Lawn

The cemetery was transformed from a barren sand and rock landscape to a memorial garden with meandering pathways lined with thousands of trees, shrubs and perennials, with irrigation and fencing.
