Pop-Ups on the Plaza: Summer fun in the heart of our community

Get ready to experience City Hall’s outdoor plaza like never before! This summer, we’re thrilled to present Pop-Ups on the Plaza – a lively series of FREE community events and activities designed to bring people together in the vibrant heart of our city. With something for everyone, this exciting lineup includes energizing yoga sessions, high-energy Zumba classes, and lively 2-Step dance lessons.

On select Fridays, don’t miss our special Friday Market, the perfect way to kick off the weekend and lead into the crowd-favourite Music in the park event.

Come out, connect with neighbours, and celebrate summer with us on the plaza!

Pop-Ups on the Plaza is brought to you by the City of West Kelowna's Recreation & Culture Department with the generous support from Visit Westside.

 FAQs

Is there a cost to participate?

  • No, Pop-Ups on the Plaza is a FREE community event series.

Does one need to pre-registration in order to participate?

  • Pop-Ups on the Plaza events operate on a drop-in basis, so participants do not need to pre-register.

Is there an age restriction for participants?

  • Participants of all ages are welcome to participate.

Will Pop-Ups on the Plaza proceed in the event of poor weather?

  • The City may cancel Pop-Ups on the Plaza due to rain, thunderstorms, poor air quality, or extreme heat. Participants should check the City's Facebook, X, and Instagram feeds by 5:30 p.m. on event day for updates.

What should participants bring?

  • Participants should wear comfortable attire and bring a water bottle. Those participating in yoga should bring their own mat.

Whom does one contact to participate as a market vendor?

  • Individuals interested in participating in the Friday Market as a grower, maker or artisan should email events@westkelownacity.ca.
  • Those interested in becoming a vendor at the Westbank Farmers Market can find information on their website at westbankfarmersmarket.com.

Where can I park for the event?

  • Most of the Pop-Ups on the Plaza events begin at 6:30 p.m., which is after-hours for City Hall, Okanagan Regional Library, and ICBC. This will allow event attendees to utilize all of the parking options around the City Hall/Library Building. Please see the map below.

Join us for a free outdoor 2-step dance class that's open to everyone! Whether you're a seasoned dancer or a beginner, this class is perfect for all levels. Enjoy the lively atmosphere, learn some new moves, and have fun in the fresh air.

Dates & Time:
Select Tuesdays | 6:30 - 7:30 p.m.
June 3 & Aug. 19 

Location: The Plaza at City Hall, 3731 Old Okanagan Hwy.

What to Bring: Comfortable footwear, a water bottle and your dance moves.

Additional Information: This event is free and open to all ages and fitness levels. No prior experience needed!

 Zumba Class

Join us for a free outdoor Zumba class that's open to everyone on the new City Hall plaza! Get ready to dance, sweat, and have fun in the fresh air. Whether you're a seasoned Zumba enthusiast or a beginner, this class is perfect for all fitness levels.

Select Tuesdays | 6:30 - 7:30 p.m.
June 17 & Aug. 5

What to Bring: Comfortable workout attire, a water bottle and your dance moves.

 Friday Market Information

Come down to our Friday Market for a fantastic evening! Browse a wonderful selection of local makers and farmers, then settle in for an enjoyable evening of Music in the Park, which starts at 6:30 p.m.

Come to the West Kelowna Library to help add a splash of colour on the library patio for Summer Reading Club! Chalk provided. Just bring your imagination!
