What's new?
Construction on Julia's Junction Inclusive Play Space, the first fully accessible playground in the City of West Kelowna, will begin in 2023, thanks to many generous donors.
You too can help by contributing through a trust fund, which Council has asked the City to set up to facilitate our community's donations to the project.
Council is also supporting the project with a $200,000 funding contribution and by providing the City-owned land on which to build this wonderful facility. The City will also maintain the play space, in perpetuity, to ensure it serves our community for many decades to come.
How to donate to the playground
A trust account has been set up for those who wish to donate and receive an official tax receipt, to be mailed to them by Feb. 28 of the following year.
You can make a contribution to the accessible playground:
- In person at Municipal Hall by cash, cheque, money order or debit, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday, excluding holidays.
- By cheque through the mail c/o Municipal Hall, 2760 Cameron Road, West Kelowna, BC V1Z 2T6; please complete the donation form and send with your cheque to assist us in issuing an official tax receipt, to be mailed by Feb. 28, 2023.
- In the 24-hour drop box next to the Municipal Hall main entrance at 2760 Cameron Road; please place the cheque in an envelope along with the completed donation form, so that we can issue you an official tax receipt to be mailed by Feb. 28, 2023.
Create a legacy for you or your loved ones by donating a picnic table or bench for the City’s first fully accessible and inclusive play space. Donors will be recognized with a plaque on the table or bench and on the donor wall.
We are proud to partner with Julia's Junction - an inclusive play space for ALL abilities and thank her and her family for working with us to build a brighter tomorrow for our community.
Leave a legacy gift for your community
The Parks Amenity Donation Program provides an excellent opportunity for families and individuals to give back to the community and enhance the city's green spaces by providing benches, picnic tables, trees and other amenities.
The program also provides means for families or individual donors to recognize loved ones, acknowledge their love of parks or highlight their community achievements.
