Join us at Pop Ups on the Plaza this summer
Free Pop Ups on the Plaza programs are back at 6:30 p.m. on most Wednesdays through September. Activities to be held at the City Hall plaza include dance and drumming lessons, yoga, and Zumba.
Provide input into the Westbank Urban Centre Plan

Westside wastewater treatment update
Council received an update on proposed development cost charge (DCC) increases of 7.7 per cent for the wastewater treatment plant and 5.3 per cent for the sewer trunk to support Westside growth.
Update on bringing mental health services for youth to the Westside
The Canadian Mental Health Association will open Foundry Westside, at 105 – 2370 Bering Road, to provide free mental health, peer support, substance use prevention and employment services for youth.
July 7 Special Council Meeting to be held
A Special Council Meeting will be held at 4 p.m. on July 7 in Council Chambers at 3731 Old Okanagan Highway.
Transportation Master Plan adopted
Council adopted the new Transportation Master Plan, which provides a long-range planning framework, prioritizes future infrastructure investments, and supports a safe, sustainable, multi-modal network.

City Hall parking lot being improved
Council awarded a $1.27 million contract to DesJardins Contracting Ltd. for drainage and safety improvements and paving at the parking lot for City Hall, the West Kelowna Library Branch, ICBC Driver Services and MP and MLA offices during business hours and evening and weekend events at Memorial Park such as Music in the Park, Pop Ups on the Plaza, Canada Day and Westside Daze.
Ranch Park ballfield being upgraded
Council awarded a $444,840 contract to Superior Excavating for softball field, drainage, and fencing upgrades at Glenrosa’s Ranch Park to improve player safety and create a better playing surface.
Boucherie Centre commercial development to be considered for adoption
Council gave first, second, and third readings to a zoning amendment at 1835 Ross Road that, if adopted, would permit a drive through as part of a new commercial development.
Election bylaw amendments introduced
Council gave first, second, and third readings to Election Bylaw amendments that, if adopted, would allow electors to authorize someone to pick up or return their mail ballot packages and authorize the chief election officer to establish secure mail ballot drop-off locations.
Election sign updates proposed
Council gave first, second, and third readings to an amended Sign Bylaw and related enforcement bylaw amendments that prohibit signs in roundabouts and on city-owned and high-risk public areas.
City to sell portable washroom facility
Council approved selling a portable washroom with proceeds to go towards the city’s community and social development initiatives.
Menu Road drainage being improved
Council awarded a $380,802 contract to Bluepoint Construction Ltd. to improve drainage on Menu Road.
