Summer fun starts early during May long weekend in West Kelowna

From perusing our parks for prizes to lakeside outings and hillside hikes, West Kelowna has something for everyone this May long weekend, with tons of summer fun to follow hot on its heels.

Peruse the Parks scavenger hunt

Residents and visitors are invited to explore some of West Kelowna’s 139 parks through the Peruse the Parks scavenger hunt. Download a scorecard, search for hidden symbols and submit your entry by May 31. Submit scorecards to recreation@westkelownacity.ca for a chance to win a prize. 

Local adventures, tourism and trails – keep this list handy for the whole summer

• Bike Rose Valley Regional Park
• Buy seasonal fare along the Westside Farm Loop    
• Hike the Boucherie Rush Trail or Goats Peak Regional Park
• Enjoy tastings on the Westside Wine Trail
• Roll or stroll on the Gellatly waterfront multi-use pathway
• Launch your kayak from Paddlewheeler or Beechnut Park
• Picnic at Rotary Beach or Pritchard Park
• Enjoy new playgrounds or shoot hoops at Anders or Paula Park
• Play tennis at Last Mountain Park, volleyball at Pebble Beach, or pickleball at the Shannon Lake or Anders courts

Victoria Day office closure

City offices will be closed Monday, May 18 and will reopen Tuesday, May 19 at 8:30 a.m. Essential services, including curbside waste collection and transit, will continue as scheduled. More information is available at westkelownacity.ca/victoriaday.
