November 01, 2019Crews have completed winterizing and shutting down most athletic facilities and seasonal restrooms for 2019.
Crews closed all fields as of October 31 except for Rosewood Park on McDougall Road, which will remain open through the third week of November for football practices.

October 22, 2019The City of West Kelowna has begun installation of an obstacle course in Vineyard Park in the South Boucherie neighbourhood that will be fun for all ages.
Five playground obstacles will be located along a trail circuit at the park located on Vineyard Drive.

October 09, 2019West Kelowna Council has created a fund to accept donations to help victims of the recent theft at the Westbank Cemetery recover costs for memorial replacements.
In the late evening of Saturday, September 14, bronze markers from 55 memorial plots in the Westbank Cemetery were stolen.

October 08, 2019The City of West Kelowna will close Majoros Pond Park for approximately three weeks beginning October 9 to repair damages caused during 2018 flooding.
The City will excavate flood material deposited in the three ponds in the park, located at 3645 Carrington Road.

New Playgrounds Under Construction in West KelownaFOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
September 27, 2019As early as Monday, September 30, the City will begin installing two new playgrounds in West Kelowna.
Shannon Woods Park in the Shannon Lake Neighbourhood and McIver Park in the Glen Eagles area of the Glenrosa Neighbourhood will soon have new playground equipment including swings, slides, monkey bars, climbing features and more!
Work on both playgrounds is expected to be complete by mid-November.

Popular West Kelowna Beach Closed for RepairsFOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
September 10, 2019The City of West Kelowna will close Rotary Park, including the beach and parking lot areas, starting Wednesday, September 11 in order to complete much-needed restoration and flood mitigation work.
Historic Okanagan Lake flooding in 2017 and high water levels in 2018 caused damage to riprap, retaining walls and staircases along the shoreline.
