West Kelowna Recreation staff move into Mount Boucherie Community Centre

West Kelowna Recreation staff are moving into their newly renovated space in the Mount Boucherie Community Centre (MBCC) as work continues on the MBCC Restoration Project.
In preparation for the removal of the trailer structures before the end of June, City staff will relocate operations into the MBCC building at 2760 Cameron Road on Friday, June 12.
Construction continues on the Restoration Project throughout the summer, and community members can expect construction activity to continue inside the building through September. Disruptions to programs and services are expected to be minimal and short-term.
Project overview
Construction began on the MBCC Restoration Project in fall 2025 and is anticipated to be complete fall 2026. The project includes:
- Office administration upgrades
- Public reception improvements
- Washroom renovations
- Childcare centre and outdoor playground
- Multipurpose rooms and banquet hall
- Kitchen upgrades
- Additional community and office space
- Parking lot improvements
Once complete, the Mount Boucherie Community Centre will operate as a modern, multi-use community facility supporting childcare, recreation programming, and private rentals.
Background
The Mount Boucherie Community Centre Restoration Project has a budget of $4.8 million and is funded in partnership with the Province of B.C. through the Childcare BC New Spaces Fund ($3.6M) and the Growing Communities Fund ($758K).
Returning the Mount Boucherie Community Centre to community use is one of Council’s Strategic Priorities under the Strengthen Our Community pillar.
