Our transportation approach is to explore and investigate viable solutions to create a multi-modal system, providing options that are affordable to taxpayers and beneficial to cyclists, pedestrians, transit and vehicles.
Council funds road network maintenance and improvements based on recommendations in our master plans, which contain short, medium and long term strategies intended to create a sustainable, multi-use system. The main guiding documents are: The Transportation Master Plan, adopted January 2014; and The Pedestrian and Bicycle Plan, adopted February 2016.
The City of West Kelowna also works with BC Transit, consults with the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure and participates in regional transportation planning programs with other local governments.
