About the Facility
The West Kelowna Multi-Sport Centre is an indoor, air-supported artificial turf facility located at 2139 McDougall Road, adjacent to Mar Jok Elementary School and Rosewood Sports Field. Free on-site parking is available.
Lawn chairs, food, and drinks other than water are not permitted as they could damage the turf.
For program information at this location, please see our Recreation Guide.
The fully accessible facility is available year round with heating, air conditioning and washrooms to accommodate practices, games and tournaments utilizing the full length or half or third-size fields. Sports groups are encouraged to contact the Recreation and Culture Department to explore sports and recreation uses. About the project
Sports groups in West Kelowna requested amenities that would extend play and practice times into evenings in spring and fall and allow skills development and competitions over winter, when outdoor fields were closed. To meet these service objectives, we installed sports field lighting at Mount Boucherie Ball Diamonds and Rosewood Sports Field in fall 2017 and spring 2018, with funding assistance provided under the Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program.
- In spring 2017, Council identified planning and design of a multi-sport facility in their Strategic Priorities.
- To support development of an air-supported multi-use facility and other parks needs, the City purchased property at 2139 McDougall Road in the Rose Valley neighbourhood, south of Rosewood Sports Field and Mar Jok Elementary School.
- Construction of the Multi-Sport Centre began in March 2019 and was completed in late October 2019.
- The cost of the project was $4.1 million including design, engineering, site preparation, construction, contingencies and commissioning. Westside Youth Soccer provided $667,000 towards construction of the project.
