It is a sure sign that we are heading into a change of seasons with the release of the City of West Kelowna’s Fall Recreation Guide. This year’s guide is offered online only, with no hard copies printed to ensure the most up to date programming information is available in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Visit westkelownacity.ca/recguide to check out your favourites for when registration opens.
Highlights include:
- Johnson Bentley Memorial Aquatic Centre programming (JBMAC) – Starting on Page 10
- JBMAC pool opening for swimming starting September 14 – Page 13
- Public Skating – Page 41
- Westside Seniors Activity Centre reopening September 8 – Page 48
City staff continue to work closely with the BC Recreation and Parks Association, following the Provincial Health Officer’s guidelines, to create socially distanced programs, with limited gathering sizes. Since space is limited, we encourage you to register early. There will be no drop-in programs this fall and all participants will have to register in advance of the start of classes.
All precautionary measures will be in place at our recreation facilities, including enhanced sanitization, hand sanitizer and hand-washing facilities. Participants will experience reduces class sizes and limited access to change rooms.
General registration for limited programming at Johnson Bentley Memorial Aquatic Centre will be available starting Monday, August 17. Registration for all other programming will be available starting Monday, August 24. Register online or by phone. If you cannot register online or on the phone, there is limited in-person registration available at 2760 Cameron Road.
