FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Friday, Jan. 15. 2021
The City of West Kelowna, in consultation with Interior Health, has rescinded the Water Quality Advisory for the Pritchard-Sunnyside Water System. The City issued the advisory Jan. 13, 2021 due to turbidity issues, near the Okanagan Lake intake, related to a severe windstorm.
The City thanks users for their patience while crews conducted sampling and testing and received all mandatory laboratory confirmations necessary to rescind the Water Quality Advisory.
To determine if you live in the Pritchard-Sunnyside Water System, please see our Water Quality Advisory Map at westkelownacity.ca/waterquality.
With quality now good in all City of West Kelowna water systems, free access is no longer available at the bulk filling station at Shannon Lake and Asquith Roads. Residents who wish to access the station, for a fee, can apply to the City for an account and access code by emailing ub.finance@westkelownacity.ca or calling 778-797-8850. The station receives water via the state-of-the-art, multi-process Powers Creek Water Treatment Plant, which the City will replicate for the Lakeview-Rose Valley, Pritchard-Sunnyside and West Kelowna Estates Systems.
