FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2021
The City of West Kelowna, in consultation with Interior Health, has rescinded a Water Quality Advisory for the Lakeview-Rose Valley Water Service Area.
The Water Quality Advisory was issued Sept. 3, 2021 due to higher than normal turbidity caused by the seasonal breakdown of algae in the Rose Valley Reservoir. The turbidity has since subsided in the reservoir, and within the distribution network, enabling the Water Quality Advisory to be rescinded. No Water Quality Advisories or Boil Water Notices are presently in effect in the any of the City of West Kelowna’s water service areas.
Construction on the Rose Valley Water Treatment Plant is underway. Once complete, the water treatment plant will provide clean drinking water to approximately 18,000 residents living within the Lakeview, Pritchard/Sunnyside and West Kelowna Estates Water Systems.
